Vabungula in Cyrillic

Vabungula adapts itself very well to the Cyrillic alphabet. Here there is no need for special diacritical marks, since Cyrillic has a good equivalent for each letter in Vabungula. Š is represented by ш and ž by ж. can be written as дж and c as ч. Vabungula h can be represented by the Cyrillic х. Ê in Cyrillic is э and û has an equivalent with ъ, a letter which is silent in Russian but which in Bulgarian represents a vowel quite similar to the Vabungula û. The Cyrillic й corresponds to j in Romanized Vabungula, and the vowel y approximates the Cyrillic ы. The letter w, which in the native Vabungula alphabet is identical with u, can likewise be written as у. Cyrillic я can be used as a shorthand for ja, a vowel combination that occurs quite frequently in Vabungula. "Ju", however, rarely occurs, making the Cyrillic ю of little use. Cyrillic е, which in Russian is equivalent to йэ, is used in Vabungula for the pure vowel e, and not which is rendered in Cyrillic simply as йэ. All other letters in the Vabungula alphabet readily find their equivalents in Cyrillic.
