Sun. Apr. 1
Lovely day. Went down to Claudes. Went out in the woods in P.M. & found some flowers.

Mon. Apr. 2
Nice day but very windy. We went up town in A.M. a few minutes. Gladys was here in P.M. Lester & Isadore were here in P.M. Stayed for supper & spent the eve.

Tues. Apr. 3
Nice in A.M. but was cloudy & sprinkled some in P.M. Gladys was here in P.M. Henry finished picking corn today. Arthur's cow had a calf this A.M. I washed & ironed today. Geo. & Kate were down & spent the eve.

Wed. Apr. 4
Nice day but very windy. Mon started plowing today. Ruth was here a minute in P.M. It rained some in eve.

Thurs. Apr. 5
Cloudy, cold day. Isa & Loyal were here in P.M.

Fri. Apr. 6
Rained all day & was cold. Mon was down to Francis in A.M. Francis & Ole were here in P.M.

Sat. Apr. 7
Regular blizzard all day. Francis was here in A.M. We went to B.O. in P.M. There are bigger drifts some places in the road between here & the corner than there was all winter.

Sun. Apr. 8
Easter Sunday. Nice bright day, but the wind was quite chilly. We were down to Padden's in P.M. & they were up here in eve. We played pinochle.

Mon. Apr. 9
Nice bright day. Quite a little warmer. We were up town most of the day at Isa's. Elsie Brace was buried today at B.O. I didn't go to the funeral.

Tues. Apr. 10
Nice bright day, but quite windy & rather cool. Francis was here in P.M. The wind took most of the snow off today. I set 3 hens on goose eggs today.

Wed. Apr. 11
Not very nice day. Very windy. Rained most of P.M. I washed & ironed today.

Thurs. Apr. 12
Nice day but a rather cold wind. Mon plowed in P.M. Isa & Lester were here in eve.

Fri. Apr. 13
Cool day. Snowed a little in A.M. & then started up again in P.M. & snowed all P.M. & eve. We got a barrel of oil today. Ruth took Elsie S., Gladys A. & myself to club at Florence Harveys. Not many out. The roads & weather were too bad. Quite a blizzard in the night. Isa, Lester & the kids, Mae, Rex, Claude R. Harold S. Ole, Gladys, Francis & Ruth were here in eve. They intended to have quite a party but the storm was too bad. We had a good time & good lunch. Got to bed about 1.

Sat. Apr. 14
Quite a blizzard in A.M. but cleared off in P.M. The wind was cold though. We went to town in P.M. Our road is drifted full again. Worse than last Sat. Was over to Isas all P.M. Francis was here in A.M.

Sun. Apr. 15
Very nice in A.M. but clouded up & got colder in P.M. Started to snow about 6 o'clock. Didn't snow much tho'.

Mon. Apr. 16
Nice day but windy & cool. Ole was here in eve a few minutes.

Tues. Apr. 17
Nice day. I washed & ironed. Mon plowed. Ruth was here a few minutes in P.M. & in eve she & Francis were both here a little while.

Wed. Apr. 18
Cloudy & cool in A.M. Started raining about noon & rained most of the P.M. About 5 the wind swung around to the N.W. & it got real cold. Wind blowed terribly hard in the night. Mon plowed in A.M. Francis was here a while in P.M. I set 2 hens on goose eggs today.

Thurs. Apr. 19
Mama's birthday. Nice day but the wind was cold. I went up to Nash's with Ruth in P.M. after some eggs. We went the south road. It is not very good for a car but we got thro' all O.K. Stopped in town a few minutes on our way back.

Fri. Apr. 20
Quite a nice day. We were down to Lester Bronners a few minutes in early A.M. Mon plowed the rest of A.M. and hauled straw from Lester's in P.M. Went to the dance in B.O. in eve. Had a good sized crowd & a good time until at the last. Blaess's got on a rampage. Got home at 3.

Sat. Apr. 21
Lovely day. Nice & warm. Mon plowed in P.M. I was down in the field quite a while with him. Following him around. Francis was here in A.M. Isa & Lester came along in P.M. & the boys & I went down to Audrey's with them. Didn't stay long. They came back here & stayed for supper.

Sun. Apr. 22
Very nice day. We went down to Aunt Lissa's. Mama & I went down to the creek in P.M. then went up across the woods to Olive's. Didn't stay long though. The boys, Mon, Grandpa & Uncle Omri went fishing. Got quite a few. Got home about 5.

Mon. Apr. 23
Nice day but windy & cold. I washed & ironed. Mon worked in the field. We went up town a while in eve. Got home about 10.

Tues. Apr. 24
Deans Birthday. Nice day but very cold & windy. Isa, Harlan & Loyal were here all day. Lester came after them about dark. Mon worked in the field.

Wed. Apr. 25
Nice day. Quite a little warmer but still cool. Mon worked in the field. Mama & papa were here all P.M. We went down to Happy's in eve. Had a nice time. Got home about 11.

Thurs. Apr. 26
Nice day but cold. Mon worked in the field. I was out in the field with him most of the P.M. We were down to Francis a while in eve.

Fri. Apr. 27
Dandy nice day, altho' the wind was cool. Mon worked in the field. Gladys was here a few minutes in P.M. & then she & I went with Ruth too club at Maude Jacobson's. Quite a crowd out. We went up town a while in eve.

Sat. Apr. 28
Dandy day. Much warmer. Mon worked in the field. He started seeding today. We went up town in eve. I went over to Isa's. Olive & the kids & mama were there too. Got home about 12.

Sun. Apr. 29
Regular April showers today. Mon was down to Francis early in A.M. We were up To Isa's all day.

Mon. Apr. 30
Terribly windy day. Mon seeded & I dragged in A.M. but the wind blew so hard I didn't go out in P.M. Mon disked. Percy W. was here in eve. Harry Harvey's barn & corn crib burned this P.M. The wind was so strong they couldn't do anything. No school today.

Tues. May 1
Lovely day. Nice & warm. I dragged in A.M. The boys & I went down to McCauleys in P.M. Rex Wards house caught fire this morn about 6. Mon went up but they had the fire out when he got there. Burned quite a hole in the roof. Paul Ward & Florence (?Jarvis?) were married today. No school today.

Wed. May 2
Nice warm day but very windy again. I dragged in A.M. & Mon finished seeding that lower piece. He started to plow the other piece in P.M. We went up town in eve awhile. No school today. Wilma Darrington & Walter Barth were married today.

Thurs. May 3
Nice day. Quite warm. I washed. Mon finished plowing for oats & got the piece dragged too. Floyd & Gladys Arnold were here a few minutes at noon. I went to Decorah with Ruth in P.M. Didn't stay long. Stopped at Aunt Lissa's a little while on our way home. It rained quite hard in eve. School started again today.

Fri. May 4
Rained until about the middle of A.M. & then cleared off. Quite a bit cooler. We got some meat of Francis & I had too take care of it. Did my ironing also. Uncle Jim was here in P.M. We went to the dance at B.O. in eve. Not many out but had a good time. Got home at 2:15.

Sat. May 5
Nice day but quite windy. Mon worked in the field. Arthur & I went out in the grove in P.M. after flowers. We went up town a while in eve. Went over to Isa's. Olive & her kids were there too.

Sun. May 6
Nice day. Isa & Lester were here for dinner. Mama, papa, Carl, Hazel & the kids were here in P.M. also Ray Hennings & Bill Koenig. Went down to Lester Bronner's in eve.

Mon. May 7
Nice day. Mon finished seeding in A.M. I dragged. Set a hen on goose egg. We took Isa too Decorah in P.M. Went up to Price's a few minutes. I went up to Roscoe Wick's with Hilda Erickson in eve to practice. Got home at 11:30.

Tues. May 8
Lovely day but windy. I washed & ironed. We sold 2 calves & a hog to Lloyd K. & I chased all over the place after them. Had 11 little pigs today. Mama, papa & Aunt Lissa were here in eve. After they went home we went up town too see Lester. Didn't get home until after 11. Large crowd in town to a play & dance.

Wed. May 9
Very warm windy day. Mon plowed today. I went up to Nash's with Ruth in P.M. Got some eggs. We went down to Bill Erickson's in eve to practice. Got home a little after ten. Ray Hennings & Hugh Kelly were here in P.M. I got 6 goslings out of 15 eggs. Not very good.

Thurs. May 10
Nice day. Isa & Lester were here all day. Lester plowed for Mon. He was taking care of little pigs all day. We have 23 little pigs now. We planted a few potatoes late in P.M.

Fri. May 11
Nice day but cold & windy. Lester plowed for Mon again today. We finished planting what potatoes we had this A.M. The Joan of Arc entertained the mothers of the community at the I.O.O.F. Hall in P.M. in honor of Mother's Day. Had a short program & a lunch. There were over 100 there. Went with Ruth. Got home about six. Mama couldn't go. Went up town in eve & got my hair cut.

Sat. May 12
Nice day. Mon worked in the field in A.M. Went down to Aunt Lissa's in P.M. with the calves we sold her. Went to B.O. in eve. Quite a crowd in town. Kate R. & I went over to Isa's awhile. Little son born to Olive & Claude at 12:30 today. Isadore & us went to see him in eve. He is surely a dandy boy. Weighs 10 ½ lbs. Olive is just fine. His name is Marvin Arthur.

Sun. May 13
Cold cloudy day. Lester's & us went up to Carl & Hazel's. Had a nice time & a dandy dinner. Got back home at 5.

Mon. May 14
Nice day. Quite a bit warmer. Hugh Kelly came down in A.M. & did my washing with the Maytag. It is sure fine. Wish I had one. Mon went to B.O. with a grist early in A.M. & then came back & watched us wash. He worked in the field in P.M. I hunted all over the place in P.M. for a little calf. Found it too. Ironed some in P.M. We went over to Gust's in eve. Had a nice visit. Got home about 10.

Tues. May 15
Quite warm. Showers off & on all day. Had quite a hard shower in eve. Mon worked in the field all day. Gladys was here a few minutes in A.M.

Wed. May 16
Showery day, but quite warm. Couldn't work in the field. Mon & I went out in the woods in P.M. hunting the Herbie cow's calf. Found it after looking all over the place. Mon & the boys were down to Francis in P.M.

Thurs. May 17
Nice warm day. Mon sowed grass seed all day. I was down in the field with him in A.M. to get started & again in P.M. We went up town in eve. Went over to Isa's awhile.

Fri. May 18
Nice warm day. Looked rainy all day though. I was down to Ruth's in A.M. a few minutes. Last day of school Had a picnic at the school house. Not many of the parents there but we had a dandy dinner and a nice time. Mon went over to Gust's in A.M. after the corn planter & then he dragged in P.M. Had a hard shower after supper. Rained quite a little in the night too I guess. Dance night in B.O. Don't know if they had it or not. We didn't go.

Sat. May 19
Lovely day. Mon finished sowing the grass seed this A.M. & got some dragging done. He finished dragging about 3:30 & then started planting corn. Got a good start at planting. We went up town in eve. Went up to Annie's house to a dance. Not many there but they seemed to have a good time. Babe stepped on my foot today & it is so sore I couldn't dance any so it wasn't so much fun for me. Got home about 2. Ray & Leonard McC. were here in P.M.

Sun. May 20
Rained off & on all day. Rather cool. We went down to Claude's in P.M. Olive is up today. The baby is growing fast. Robert & Erma came just before we left. First time I had seen them in a long while. They have three nice kiddies.

Mon. May 21
Nice day but rather cool. I washed & ironed. Mon planted corn. Ray McCauley was here & played with the boys a while in A.M. Effie & Percy stopped a few minutes on their way home from town. They had a blow out & stopped here to fix it. We got a new water tank today.

Tues. May 22
Dandy day. Mon finished planting the one piece in A.M. & disked in P.M. We went to Prosper in eve & then back to B.O. & stayed a while. Got home about 10.

Wed. May 23
Lovely day. Nice & warm. Mon disked all day. C. A. Lange was here in P.M. The boys went down to McCauley's in P.M. Ruth & Francis were up in P.M.

Thurs. May 24
Dandy day only rather windy. I went to club at Bessie Johnson's with Audrey in P.M. Quite a crowd. Had initiation and lots of fun. Isadore, Fanny Reed & Verle Kelly joined. Had a dandy lunch. Had a little shower about supper time.

Fri. May 25
Nice day. Quite windy. Mon dragged in A.M. & part of P.M. Started planting about 3:30. We went up town in eve a little while. Went over to Isa's. We had 7 more little pigs today. That makes us 41.

Sat. May 26
Nice day but windy. Mon finished planting today. The boys & I were out in the field with him most of the P.M. We went to town in eve. Not many in town. Didn't go over to Isa's. Quite cold in eve.

Sun. May 27
Cloudy, windy, cold day. We went down to Olive's in P.M. Took Isa & the kids along. Mama & papa had gone to Hokah with Dell & Mettie so we missed seeing them. Mon went down to Francis a while in eve.

Mon. May 28
Nice day. We went to Decorah after our little chickens. Got 102 white Leghorns at Matters. They look very nice. Stopped at Olive's a few minutes on our way home too see mama. Asa Lang was here in P.M. after we got home. We went down to Floyd Arnolds awhile in eve. Floyd wasn't at home but we had a good visit with Gladys.

Tues. May 29
Very nice day. I washed in A.M. Mon took Gust's planter home in A.M. We planted the rest of our potatoes in P.M. & then went up town a little while. Stopped at Isa's a minute. Loyal took four or five steps alone for Dean & I. Leonard & Ray McC. came up about 8 & stayed until almost 4. The boys had a big time. Ray Hennings was here in eve. There was a surprise on Merle & Elsie but we didn't go.

Wed. May 30
Very nice day. We planted garden in A.M. Mrs. Krumm & a gentleman were here in A.M. We subscribed for the Ladies Home Journal. Gust came along about 11 going to Ridgeway & Mon went along. Didn't get back until 5. The boys went down to Annie's in P.M. too play with Ray McC.

Thurs. May 31
Very nice day. Pretty warm. I helped Mon fix fence all day from 7:30 until 5:30. We went up town in eve.

Fri. June 1
Terribly windy day. Mon plowed corn in A.M. but the wind blew so hard he didn't plow in P.M. He was down to Francis in P.M. Isa & the kids were here in P.M. She left Loyal here when she went home. We went too the dance at B.O. in eve & took him home then. Francis & Ruth went with us. Not such a very large crowd out but had a good time. Got home about 2:30.

Sat. June 2
Nice day. Mon plowed corn. We didn't get up very early. Went up town in eve. Went up to Annie's to the dance a little while. Got home about 11:30. I was over to Isa's awhile too. Mama was there.

Sun. June 3
Dandy day. Uncle Aaron came before we had breakfast & stayed until about 10. Mama, papa, Claude's & Lester's were all here today. Had a big time. First time we had all been together for a long while. The kids had a big time. Isa stayed until after supper & then Mon & the boys took her home.

Mon. June 4
Cold, windy day. Didn't do much of anything. Didn't feel very good. Mon helped Ole shear sheep all day. He went up town in eve. The boys & I stayed at home.

Tues. June 5
Cold day. Rained off & on all day or rather sprinkled. Not enough to do any good though. Mon plowed corn all day. Dale Arnold was here in P.M. to play with the boys. We went down to Francis awhile in eve. Uncle Jim & Aunt Mina are there. Florence, Albert, Shirley & Aunt Alice came while we were there so the boys had a big time with Shirley.

Wed. June 6
Very nice day. Claude Robinson & Ruth were here before we had breakfast. I was going to wash but it was too late when they went home. Mon plowed corn all day. I was out in the field with him in P.M. awhile. The boys went up town in P.M. to get their hair cut. They stayed at Isa's for supper & then we went up in eve & got them.

Thurs. June 7
Rather an odd day. Quite warm. Sprinkled quite a few different times during the day. I washed & ironed.

Fri. June 8
Nice day but very windy. Arthur went to Lansing with Ruth & Francis. He left home before 6 & didn't get back until late in eve. Mon, Dean & I took the horses up town & put them in the folks pasture. Dean & I went down to Isa's awhile. The Joan of Arc had an ice cream social at Merle Smith's. Quite a crowd out. Too cold to have it outside so we had it in the house. Alice S. went with us. Got home about 11:30. Little daughter born to Lester & Pauline Bronner today.

Sat. June 9
Nice day. Didn't do much of anything. Too lazy I guess. Dean didn't get up until noon. Arthur went to a party at Wernetts in P.M. Dean wouldn't go. Papa was here for supper. We went up town in eve. Went over to Isa's a little while. Got home about 11.

Sun. June 10
Dandy day. We went down to Archie Wards to a picnic. Not many there. Had a good time. Ruth & Ole were here in A.M. Uncle Aaron & Floyd A's. were here in eve.

Mon. June 11
Nice day but quite windy. Sprinkled a little in P.M. but not enough to do any good. I washed & ironed. Mon plowed corn & potatoes in P.M.

Tues. June 12
Rainy day. Rained quite hard for a while. But we didn't have nearly enough. I set out some tomato plants in P.M. & the ground wasn't very wet. We went up town in eve. Emory Wilbur died today.

Wed. June 13
Not very nice in A.M. Rained off & on all A.M. but cleared off & was nice in P.M. Quite cold in A.M. Mon plowed corn all day. Ruth & Martha were here just a minute in eve.

Thurs. June 14
Dandy day. Mon plowed corn. Went down to Ruth's in P.M. to L.A.S. Quite a crowd. Took in around $9. Myrtle Whitbeck (Webster) was there with her two children. First time I had seen her in years. She looks just the same. We went up town in eve. Went over to Isa's a little while.

Fri. June 15
Dandy nice day. Mon plowed corn. We took the boys down to Claude's at noon. They are going to stay over night with Grandma & she was at Claudes for part of the day. Marvin has grown so much. Went to B.O. in eve with Percy to the dance. Quite a crowd out. Had a good time. Got home about 2:15.

Sat. June 16
Nice day. Didn't do much of anything. We went down to Ruth's a few minutes in P.M. Mr. L. & Happy were here in P.M. We went up town in eve a while. Went over to Isa's a minute. The boys were there & came home with us. Emory Wilbur was buried today.

Sun. June 17
Rained almost all day. Quite hard some times too. Uncle Aaron & Geo. Mc.C. were here in A.M. awhile. We were over to Isa's for dinner. A bunch of us intended to go to Lanesboro today but it was too rainy.

Mon. June 18
Sun didn't shine much but it was a nice warm day. We went to Decorah. Isa went along. We left Harlan & Dean at Olive's while we were down there. Went up to see Henry's mother a minute. Got 96 more little chickens. Got home about 5. Went down to Floyd's in eve & got some tomato plants. Ole was here a few minutes in eve.

Tues. June 19
Rained some off & on all day. Mon plowed corn. Arthur & Dean went to Decorah to a picnic with Ruth in P.M. They didn't get home until after 9. Mr. & Mrs. Price & Warren were here in eve a few minutes.

Wed. June 20
Very warm day. Mon plowed corn. We went up to B.O. at noon & right back. The boys & I went down to Gladys's in P.M. & got some lettuce. Francis was here in eve.

Thurs. June 21
Nice day. Mon plowed corn. I washed & ironed. Mon went down to Francis in eve.

Fri. June 22
Rained all day. Didn't do much of anything. Francis was here in P.M. We got an announcement of Stanley's wedding today. He was married last Sat.

Sat. June 23
Very nice in A.M. but rather cloudy in P.M. Quite warm tho'. Had quite a shower about 6:30. Went to club with Ruth at Lizzie Cassells. Audry entertained at her mother's. Not many out. Went up town in eve. Went to a dance at Annie's. Not many there. Got home about 3. The boys went home with papa. Leonard & Ray McC were here in P.M.

Sun. June 24
Not very nice day. Cold & cloudy. Misted some. We went up to Isa's in A.M. & then she, Loyal & Harlan went down to mama's for dinner. The boys came home with us.

Mon. June 25
Nice day but cold & windy. Mon plowed corn. We went up to Isa's for dinner and then right home again. They didn't feel very well up there. We went up town in eve. I took up 9 old hens & got $7.20. Got my hair cut. Went over to Isa's a little while. They are all better.

Tues. June 26
Lovely day. Nice & warm. Mon plowed corn until about 10. Ruth was here in A.M. The Joan of Arc had their picnic at Stanton's Spring north of Prosper. It sure is a nice place. Had a swell dinner & all the ice cream we could eat. About 83 there. Isa, Lester & the kids went with us.

Wed. June 27
Very nice day. I worked in the garden most of the day. Mon plowed corn. He went up town at noon & right back. Had quite a rain in the night.

Thurs. June 28
Rather nice in A.M. but rained terribly hard in P.M. & most of the P.M. too. Ruth & I were going to L.A.S. at Miriam's but we didn't.

Fri. June 29
Very nice day. I washed & ironed. We went to B.O. to the dance in eve. Very large crowd out. Had a good time. Got home about 2:30.

Sat. June 30
Nice in A.M. but was cloudy in P.M. We went up town in P.M. & the boys stayed up with Isa. We went down below Decorah to a barn dance with Ruth & Francis. Didn't dance any. Very large crowd. Saw Oscar. Got home about 2. Nearly froze coming home.

Sun. July 1
Lovely day. Very warm. Went to a picnic at Aunt Candace's. Lester & Isa went with us. Quite a crowd there. Had a dandy dinner. Stopped at Aunt Lissa's a few minutes on our way home. Aunt Eunice & the bunch are there. Gust & Kate were here a little while in eve. We rode down to Annie's with them. Didn't stay long though.

Mon. July 2
Rained very hard from about 5 until 7 A.M. but was nice until about 6 P.M. & then we had another bad one. Hailed quite a little in P.M. We went up town in P.M. Happy rode home with us & then we took him home. Lester B. was here in A.M.

Tues. July 3
Lovely day. Henry's father & mother were here for dinner. In P.M. we went down to Lester B's. & up town but came back for supper. They went home about 7. Papa & mama & Ray Hennings were here in P.M. too but they didn't stay long. We went up town in eve. Got home about 11.

Wed. July 4
Rained all A.M. but cleared off & was nice in P.M. & eve. Quite warm. We were to have a picnic at Bluffton but it was too rainy. We went up to Isa's for dinner & spent the P.M. too. We went up there again in eve & they went down to Anderson's to the barn dance with us. Not many there & we didn't stay long. Dance in the hall too but we didn't care to go there. Frank Wolfenberger died this A.M.

Thurs. July 5
Lovely day. Quite warm. We went up town in A.M. & then down to Aunt Lissa's after some chick feed papa got in Decorah for us. Stopped at Ruths awhile too. Mon plowed corn in P.M. Papa was here for supper.

Fri. July 6
Very hot day. Mon plowed corn. I washed in A.M. Went to club at Myrtle M's. in P.M. with Ruth. Quite a crowd out. Went to Decorah to Lodge in eve with her too. Installation. Not many out. Had ice cream & cake afterward. Got home about 11. Frank W. was buried today.

Sat. July 7
Very hot day again. Mon plowed corn. The boys went down to McCauleys in P.M. We went up town in eve. Went over to Isa's a few minutes. Rained quite hard after we got home from town.

Sun. July 8
Very nice in A.M. but clouded up & rained very hard at noon. Rained until about 3. Mama & papa came up for dinner. Mon was down to Francis in A.M. Ole was here in P.M. Harold Lovlien, Rex W. & Will Pierce were here in eve.

Mon. July 9
Nice day but quite cool. We went down to Aunt Lissa's & over to Mettie's in A.M. Came back to Aunt Lissa's for dinner. Went to B.O. after dinner & then home. Mon plowed corn & I worked in the garden. Got 100 lbs. of wheat from Mettie.

Tues. July 10
Dandy day. Pretty warm. I washed & ironed. Mon plowed corn early in A.M. & then Chris Matthews came along & wanted him to work his poll tax so he went with him. Chris was here for dinner too. Mon got home about 4 & then he plowed corn some more. We went up town awhile in eve. Was over to Isa's a few minutes.

Wed. July 11
Nice in A.M. & until about 3 P.M. it clouded up & was quite a little cooler. Very warm before that. Mon plowed corn. His mother & father were here in P.M. awhile. We went down to Terry McConnells to a barn dance in eve. Not such a large crowd there. I danced a couple of times & Mon didn't dance at all. We got home at 1. Francis & Ruth went with us.

Thurs. July 12
Very nice in A.M. but rained very hard in P.M. Mon plowed corn in A.M. He & the boys went down to Francis awhile after the rain. I set out a lot of cabbage & ground cherry plants after the rain.

Fri. July 13
Nice cool day. Didn't do much of anything. Mon was down to Ole's in A.M. Got a box of raspberries. Francis was here about noon. He & Henry & the boys took the tractor & road drag & dragged the road after dinner. Helped it a lot too. Francis & Ruth went up town with us in P.M. & then we took the boys down to mama's. F. & R. went to the dance at B.O. with us in eve. Very large crowd out. Had a good time. We got home about 2:30. Percy rode down with us & we took him as far as Harold's.

Sat. July 14
Nice day. Didn't get up until 7:30. Mon plowed corn. We went up town in eve. Dean came home with us but Arthur went back with papa.

Sun. July 15
Lovely day. Pretty warm though. Papa, Mama & Arthur came about 9 and we went with them for a ride. Went to B.O. then Kendalville. Stopped there & got some ice cream, then on to Cresco & Vernon Springs. Ate our dinner there & stayed there until about 2 watching the boys swimming & diving. First time I had ever been there. Then on to Bluffton & stopped there. Mama & I went in & visited Inga C. Then over east of Bluffton to the river so the boys could go in wading then back to our road & home. Surely had a dandy trip. Crops look just fine. Quite a bit of haying done & we saw one field of shocks. Got home about 4. Mama & papa stayed until about 5. We went down to McCauleys in eve. Had a nice time. Got home about 10.

Mon. July 16
Lovely day. I washed & ironed. Mon plowed corn. We went up town in eve. Went over to Isa's a minute.

Tues. July 17
Very warm day. I washed some & ironed. Mon plowed corn in A.M. Loyd Knowlton was here in P.M. & bought Brownie for $45. The boys were down to Ruth's all day. Two of her nephews from Mason City are there. It rained very hard between 6 & 7 P.M.

Wed. July 18
Very warm nice day. We went to B.O. & then to Decorah. Went up to Price's & stayed until after dinner, then went down town. Got the boys each a new pair of slippers. Stopped at Ruth's awhile on the way home. Got home about 4:30. Mon went down to Ole's after we got home & borrowed his sycthe & mowed some weeds. Happy was here a few minutes in eve. It rained terribly hard from about 9 until 10 P.M.

Thurs. July 19
Very nice in A.M. but clouded up about 3 P.M. & we had a very hard rain again. Quite a few of my chickens got pretty wet & cold so we had to bring some in the house & dry them off. Gust was here in P.M. & Arthur rode a horse, that he had got at Annie's, home for him. Then Gust bro't him back to town in eve & we went up there after him.

Fri. July 20
Rather cloudy in A.M. but cleared off & was very nice in P.M. & eve. Very warm too. We went up to Isa's in A.M. & stayed for dinner. I went from there to club at Francis Miller's with Ole's. Quite a few out. Had such a lovely lunch. We went to Decorah in eve with Francis & Ruth & their boys to a show. "Getting Gertie's Garter." Big crowd. Had quite a few laughs. Got home about 11:30.

Sat. July 21
Rainy in A.M. but cleared off & was nice the rest of the day. We went up town in P.M. I went over to Isa's. She doesn't feel a bit well. Bad cold. Alice M. was there awhile too. We went up town in eve & then down to Anderson's to a barn dance. Very large crowd. Good music & a fine time. Got home about 2:30.

Sun. July 22
Lovely day. Some cooler. Went to a ball game in Raymond Youngs pasture in P.M. B.O. & Canoe. Canoe beat. Some game. B.O. had to buy the ice cream. We stayed & ate some. Mon gave them .50. Got home a little after six. Went to bed about 8:30.

Mon. July 23
Very warm day. Mon helped Francis hay today. I worked in the garden most of the day. Audry was here all eve. Happy went up town & she stayed here. Mr. & Mrs. Price & Warren were here in eve. They have a new Essex car. McCauleys were here awhile too. Happy & Audry stayed until about 12.

Tues. July 24
Very warm day. Mon helped Francis again today. They finished the haying in A.M. & went at the harvesting in P.M. The boys were out in the field with them all P.M. Roger K. was here awhile in eve & then we went to town. Took some old hens up got $8.67 for them.

Wed. July 25
Very warm day. Warmest day we have had. Mon helped Francis today. Francis was here a few minutes just after supper. No wind so we don't have water these days. Arthur & I went up town in eve with Ruth & Francis. Went up to the S.S. class's Ice cream Social awhile & then down town. I got a crate of cherries. $3.50.

Thurs. July 26
Not quite so hot today. The wind blew so we got plenty of water. I canned my cherries in A.M. It looked like we were going to have a bad storm in P.M. but it all went around. Cooled off the air though. Mon helped Francis. Ruth & I went over to Jim Wades to L.A.S. Not many there. Had a dandy supper. Mama & papa were here & spent the eve.

Fri. July 27
Rather cloudy in A.M. but cleared off & was nice in P.M. but quite cool. I washed & ironed. Mon helped Francis. Arthur drove the tractor part of the time. We went to the dance at B.O. in eve. Quite a crowd out. New music & not what we were used to. Got home about 2:30. Ruth & Francis went with us.

Sat. July 28
Nice day but cool. Mon helped Francis today. Ruth was here a few minutes in A.M. Arthur drove the tractor some again today. Charlotte Ferris was here in P.M. & played with the boys & the McCauley boys were here in A.M. We went up town in eve. Was up to Rubys a few minutes & then went over to Isa's. Mama & Olive & the kids were there. Had a good visit but couldn't stay long. Had to go home too soon.

Sun. July 29
Quite cloudy in A.M. Rained a little a couple of times. Happy was here in A.M. Mon & the boys went up town in A.M. We went over to Gust's in P.M. & then Gust, Mon & the boys went to the ball game in Raymond's pasture & I stayed with Kate. Had a good visit. After the game Walt & Effie came up there too & we were all there for supper. Uncle Aaron & George M. were here in eve.

Mon. July 30
Nice day, but cool & windy. Mon & Arthur helped Francis all day. Stanley, his wife, Warren & Ma were here a few minutes in A.M. Dean & I were down to Ruth's a few minutes in P.M. We went up town in eve.

Tues. July 31
Cloudy in A.M. Sprinkled a little. Was nice in P.M. Mon worked for Francis in A.M. They finished their harvesting. Started at our house after dinner. Arthur run the tractor in P.M. In A.M. he & Dean were down to McCauleys. I went out in the field & threw the bundles out of the way. We went up town in eve. Ruth & Francis went with us. We went over to Isa's awhile. Got a crate of peaches. $1.30.

Wed. Aug. 1
Very foggy in A.M. early but cleared off & was very nice before noon. Clouded up at noon & rained quite hard for a few minutes. Rained so they had to quite cutting. Francis was here for dinner. We went up town in P.M. after the rain. Went over to Isa's. Had a very bad storm about 8:30. Wind blew & it rained terribly hard. McCauley's were going home from town & they stopped here awhile when the wind blew so hard. Stormed all night too. Thunder & lightning.

Cloudy, rainy day. Was nice for awhile at noon. I canned my peaches. Got 7 qts. Isa & Lester & the kids were here for dinner. We were down to Ruth's a few minutes in P.M & then Mon & Francis went to B.O. It stormed hard again in eve.

Fri. Aug. 3
Rained off & on all day & night. Rained quite hard some times too. Went to Club at Ruth Milne's in P.M. with Ole's. Quite a crowd out. Had a dandy lunch. Mon & the boys went to B.O. in P.M.

Sat. Aug. 4
Nice day. Ole was here in A.M. awhile & then Mon went down there. We went to B.O. in P.M. Took the boys down to Mama's on our way home. They stayed all night. Loyal came home with us to supper. We went over to B.O. in eve. Went up to the Ice Cream Social & had a dish of ice cream then went down & got Lester's & Percy & went down to Anderson's to the Barn Dance. Very large crowd. Good music. Had a good time. Got home about 2. Percy stayed here all night. Got bumped into coming home.

Sun. Aug. 5
Lovely day. Pretty warm. Mon took Percy down as far as Happy's after breakfast. Harold Reed, Oscar P., Uncle Aaron & Geo. McC. were here in A.M. After they were gone we went down to mama's. Claude's, Lester's & Dell's were there. Had a dandy dinner. Lots of blackberries & chicken. Lester's rode home with us. Went to bed early.

Mon. Aug. 6
Dandy day. I washed some in A.M. Francis & Percy were here for dinner & supper. They finished our harvesting today. Got done about 5. We went up town in eve. A storm came up & we hiked for home early. Blowed pretty hard all the way home. Mon sure made the car go some. Didn't rain much. Percy stayed here all night.

Tues. Aug. 7
Very warm day. We nearly roasted. Walt McC. Was here in A.M. after Percy. We went up town early in A.M. after our horse. Mon mowed all the rest of the day. Ruth was here awhile in P.M.

Wed. Aug. 8
Very warm day. Nearly roasted again today. They put in hay in P.M. Had quite a storm again in eve. Francis helped Mon today.

Thurs. Aug. 9
Hot day again. I picked cucumbers & nearly melted. We went down to Paddens awhile in P.M. & then we all went up town. Went up to Harry Harveys to a barn dance in eve. Had a very good time. Nice place to dance. Big crowd. Got home about 2.

Fri. Aug. 10
Very nice day. We finished our haying this A.M. Went down to Claude's in P.M. after a load of wood. Didn't go to the dance at B.O. tonite.

Sat. Aug. 11
Nice day but cooler. Didn't do much of anything but did quite a little too. We went up to B.O. in eve. Was at Isa's most of the time. Mama was there too.

Sun. Aug. 12
Very nice day. We went down to Mettie's & spent the day. Mama, papa, Aunt Lissa, Dave Cassell's & Harry Erickson's were there too. Went up to Isa's on our way home. She was sick in bed so we bro't the baby home with us. Went for a ride in eve. Down to Bluffton & back home again by Loveleins. Had a nice ride. Quite cool.

Nice day. I washed & ironed. Went down to Loveleins awhile in P.M. Went up town in eve.

Tues. Aug. 14
Very warm day. Picked cukes. Canned cukes & did everything else. Henry's father & mother were here for supper. Took baby home tonite. Mama & papa were there too. Isa is better. Got started for home & the threshers were going down to Vicks so we helped them down there & then took Claude R. & Mr. Meyer back to B.O.

Wed. Aug. 15
Very warm day. Mon threshed at Vicks & at Francis after 5. Ruth, the boys & I went to Decorah about 8 & then on to Frankville. Stayed there for dinner & then Mr. & Mrs. Padden came home with us. Got back just in time to get supper for the threshers.

Thurs. Aug. 16
Very nice in A.M. but rained very hard about 2:30 P.M. Threshing at Francis & quite a few of the men got soaked. Spoiled the threshing for today. Rained off & on the rest of the P.M. & eve.

Fri. Aug. 17
Nice day. Pretty warm. We went to Club at Iona's in P.M. Ruth drove our car & Gladys went along. Quite a crowd out. Very nice lunch. Ruth & Francis, Mon & I went to Decorah in eve. The boys stayed at Mama's, Ruth & I went to Lodge. After we got down town from Lodge the boys were not ready to go home so we walked down to the Fair Grounds. Not much crowd & nothing doing. Got home about 10:30. Pretty cool riding home.

Sat. Aug. 18
Very nice day. Ruth & I went to Prosper in A.M. early after meat. They finished threshing down there about 4:30 & then they moved the part of the house for Uncle Jim with the engine. Mon & I stayed down there for supper. Mrs. (?Ross?) & Marjorie were there for supper too. We went up down in eve & the boys came home with us. I was over to Isa's a while. Mama was there too. The threshing machine moved up here tonite.

Sun. Aug. 19
Nice day. Mon took our telephone up to Charlie's in A.M. & then we went after it about 6 P.M. Mama & papa were here all day. Ed & Jessie Dawley were here for dinner. They were cleaning the boiler. It looked pretty stormy here early in eve but it didn't rain. They had a bad hail storm north of B.O. around Prosper & Canton. We went down to Floyd's a minute in eve. I didn't get out at all. It rained hard in the night.

Mon. Aug. 20
Cloudy rainy day. Rained off & on all day. Happy was here in P.M. awhile. We went up town in P.M. Had a terrible rain in eve. They lightning was bad too. There was water everywhere. Regular cloudburst & it lasted quite a while almost an hour.

Tues. Aug. 21
Lovely day. Went up town & stayed all day. Mon fixed fence. I helped Isa wash. We went up to Harry Harvey's in eve to the dance a little while.

Wed. Aug. 22
Very nice in A.M. but cloudy in P.M. Rained hard again in eve. Threshed here in P.M. Got done about 4 here & then went down to Ole's & threshed his barley out. Ruth, Mrs. Keefe & I went to Canton after meat at noon. Had a great time about the threshing. Ed Dawley stayed here all night.

Thurs. Aug. 23
Not very nice day. Cloudy most of the time. Ed was here until after dinner. Mon went up town in P.M. I picked cukes. Got about 1 ½ bu's. Got cold in P.M. & cleared off. Arthur didn't feel very well all day.

Fri. Aug. 24
Very nice cool day. I got part of my washing done when Mon came home from Francis & said we were going to West Union to the fair so we went. Stopped a few minutes at Decorah. Had to go thro' Frankville, Postville & Clarmont on account of the road being torn up the shorter route. Had a good time. Left there for home about 5:30 & got home at 8:30. Dance up town but we didn't go, the boys were too sleepy & tired. Got to bed about 10.

Sat. Aug. 25
Another nice cool day. I finished my washing in A.M. Ironed & did lots of other things in P.M. Ruth was here in A.M. Had a quite a time here in A.M. Happy had a terrible spell out in the field. As soon as he was able we bro't him up to the house. Had Dr. Lannin for him. Happy frightened us all very much. We tho't he was dying. Dr. took him home about 10. He was a little better then. He was taken about 9 & believe me it was a long long hour. With him the way he was. He was better in P.M. & slept some. Mon was at Ole's threshing all day. We went up town in eve with McCauley's. Our car is broke. Went over to Isa's a few min's. Mama was there.

Sun. Aug. 26
Nice in A.M. but was cloudy & cool in P.M. Ruth was here early in A.M. to call Dr. Lannin for her father. He is quite sick. She was here four or five other times during the day too talk to the Dr. Happy & Audry were here an hour or so in A.M. early too. They were on their way to see the Dr. for Happy. He is much better today. Dell, Mettie, Aunt Lissa & Mama were here in A.M. too. Mettie got the cucumbers. We went down to Annie's in P.M. & got some plums then down to see how Mr. Ferris was. He is no better. Went up town to get the piece for the car. Rained again in the night.

Mon. Aug. 27
Nice day. Quite a bit warmer. Mon went up & got Isa in A.M. & she helped me peel apples & fix plums. We canned 12 qts. of plums & 19 ½ of apples. Pretty good days work. Mon threshed at Loveleins in P.M. Ruth was here quite a few times today. Mr. F. was not much better until in eve. He felt some easier. Harriet came tonite. We took Isa home in eve.

Tues. Aug. 28
Dandy day. Did a lot of little things but not much that showed up. Picked cukes in P.M. Got a bushel. Mon threshed at Loveleins & Gilbertson's today. Ruth was here 3 times. Her father is much better today. Arthur didn't feel good all P.M. & eve. Gust & Kate were over in eve. Kate got the cukes.

Wed. Aug. 29
Rained very hard in A.M. but cleared off late in P.M. & was nice but cold. Mon & Dean went up town in P.M. with Francis. Arthur felt pretty bad all day.

Thurs. Aug. 30
Lovely day. I washed & ironed & did quite a few other things. Went down to Gladys in P.M. & got some plums. Arthur is better today. Mon helped Uncle Jim today. We went up town in eve. Loyal was very sick & they called me over there. Was just going to get my hair cut when they sent for me. He had convulsions. Nearly died. They had Dr. Ness. Mama came up & Alice M. was there. We came home about 10. He was a tiny bit better then.

Fri. Aug. 31
Dandy day. Arthur took me up to Isa's in A.M. early. I helped there until about 11:30 & then I went up to Lanesboro with Elsie to Club at Bertha Nelson's. Not very many got there. Had a very nice time & a nice lunch. Went down to the Park & Community Hall after lunch. Started for home about 4. Stopped in Harmony awhile. Got back to B.O. about 5:15. Loyal is a trifle better today. He had a good long sleep so that helped some. Mon threshed at Gilbertson's & Paul Wards today.

Nice day. Mon went with Walt on the cream route & the boys & I went up to Isa's. Baby isn't much better today. He was brighter this A.M. but at noon he wasn't very well. Dr. was over again in P.M. Alice M. was down & Olive & the kids were there. Ruth was here after we got home tonite & Percy Ward Mon went up town in eve.

Nice day but cool. Walt McC. & the boys were here in A.M. early. Mon & the boys went up town a few minutes in A.M. I packed the cukes for mama after dinner & then we took them up town to her. Loyal is a little better today.

Mon. Sept. 3
Nice day but cool. The boys started to school today. Regina Knox is teacher. Mon started hauling cream. Walt is taking his vacation. I went down to Ruth's in A.M. & stayed with her mother while she took her father to Mabel to see Dr. Lannin. They didn't get back until about 1:30. I went down to Loveleins with Ruth in P.M. We stopped at Audrey's on our way back. Hugh Kelly was here a few minutes in eve.

Tues. Sept. 4
Nice day. Mon went on the route today. I went down to Ruth's in A.M. & then went for a little ride with her & Mrs. (?Marlan?). We went up town in eve. Baby is a little better.

Wed. Sept. 5
Very nice day. I went on the route with Mon. Had a good time. Went over some roads I had never been over before. Got back to B.O. about 3. Stopped in town a while. I stayed at Isa's. Baby is better but terribly weak.

Thurs. Sept. 6
Dandy day. No school today & tomorrow on account of Institute so Dean went with Mon on the route. Ruth went to Institute & I went down & stayed with her folks. Arthur went along with me. Baby isn't so well today.

Fri. Sept. 7
Nice day but very windy. Quite a bit warmer. Mon went on the route. Arthur went with him. I washed in A.M. & then went down to Ruth's & got dinner. Came back home about 1:30 & canned pickles & ironed some. We went over town to the dance in eve. I went over to Isa's awhile first. Baby is a little better. Mom didn't get a shave so he didn't dance any. We came home at supper time. Large crowd there.

Sat. Sept. 8
Dandy warm day. Dean went with Mon on the route. Arthur & I went up town about 10:30. We started to walk & then Francis gave us a ride. Spent the day at Isa's. Baby is so fussy. His mouth is sore & he cries most of the time. He is quite a bit better & stronger otherwise though. Rode home from town with Mon. Went up town again in eve so Mon could get a shave. Olive & the kids were at Isa's. So got to see them all.

Sun. Sept. 9
Nice day. Isa, Lester & Harlan, Lester Bronner, Francis, Raymond Hennings & Percy W. were here in A.M. We stayed at home all day & night. Baby is better.

Mon. Sept. 10
Nice in A.M. early but clouded up & started to rain later. Kept it up all day & night. Rained off & on. Not very hard tho' until in eve. It just poured down then. Mon went on the route. He didn't get home until 7. The boys went to school. I washed. Baby is quite a little better.

Tues. Sept. 11

Not very nice day. Rained some in A.M. but cleared off & was quite nice in P.M. Mon went on the route. I didn't do much of anything. Ironed some in P.M. Rained in night.

Wed. Sept. 12
Not very nice in A.M. Rained off & on. Cleared off in P.M. & was very nice. I went with Mon on the route. Got stuck a few times. Couldn't make it up Geo. Wemetts hill so we didn't get to Bluffton.

Thurs. Sept. 13
Very nice in A.M. & until about 4:30 P.M. It started to rain & kept it up off & on the rest of the P.M. & eve. I went with Mon on the route. Stopped at Isa's a few minutes. Loyal is gaining but he is so poor. He looks much better through. Had a terrible storm about 1.

Fri. Sept. 14
Nice day but very windy. Mon started out on the route but he couldn't get very far on account of the roads. He came back about 11 & went up town. Ray H. came back with him in a little while & they took the truck & started out again. Went down the Hogs Back to Bluffton & around that way so they got to some of the places. They didn't get back home until 8. Club met with Ruth in P.M. We had a nice time but not many there.

Sat. Sept. 15
Dandy nice warm day. Arthur went with Mon on the route so Dean finished up our work here & went up town. Caught a ride from Claude H's on to town. Baby is much better. He tries to play some now. Papa bro't Dean & I home about 5. Isa & I went & got my hair cut in P.M. I got a new felt hat. We went up town in eve. Went over to Isa's again. Olive & the kids were there. We got home about 11.

Sun. Sept. 16
Nice day but rather cool. Mon was down to Francis in A.M. & then we all went down there & made ice cream. It sure was good. Walt got back this A.M. & in P.M. he, Ruby & Mae came over after the truck. I was glad to see it go & guess Mon was too. We went over to Isa's about 4 & stayed for supper.

Mon. Sept. 17
Nice day. Mon went down to Lester B's & Harold L's in A.M. & I went along. He helped Harold in P.M. Annie was here a few minutes in P.M. We went up town in eve.

Tues. Sept. 18
Dandy day. Mon & I went up town in A.M. & then Isa & Harlan went to Decorah with us. Got back to B.O. about noon. Mama & I went up to her house a little while in P.M. Just stopped in to see Aunt Em. a minute. We came home about 5. Got a sack of sugar & a sack of flour.

Wed. Sept. 19
Very nice day but windy. I washed in A.M. Canned some tomatoes & went with Mon after a jag of corn in P.M.

Thurs. Sept. 20
Our 12th Wedding Anniversary. Nice most of the day. Rather cloudy sometimes. Rained in the night. Mon took a grist up to B.O. in A.M. & Mama, Isa, Harlan & Loyal came home with him. Papa came down to dinner & then they went home with him. Loyal is much better. We got in a load of hay in P.M. (From the road side) then went up town & got the grist.

Fri. Sept. 21
Nice day but cool. Mon helped Happy moved his buildings in A.M. & then just at noon the hen house dropped on his thumb and crushed it. Happy rushed him right to Mabel to Dr. Nass & got it dressed. It is a pretty bad hurt. Pained him quite a little the rest of P.M. Happy came up & milked for us. The boys & I did the rest of the chores. We went up to B.O. with Paddens in eve. Went over to Isa's awhile & then to the dance. Quite a crowd out but not as many as usual. Had quite a good time. Mon got rather tired before we came home but he went to sleep then & slept good the rest of the night. Dean stayed up to Isa's all night. Mama didn't feel very good all day & eve.

Sat. Sept. 22
Nice day but windy & cold. Happy & Walt McC. came up & milked this A.M. We went to Mabel with Mr. Ferris in P.M. to see the Dr. Stopped at Isa's a minute as we came back. Went down to Deitels after we got home. Arnold came up & milked for us. Glen Reed skipped out & left everything this eve. No one knows why he went or where he went.

Sun. Sept. 23
Very cold windy day. Snowed a little about 11:30. Saw ice along the road side on the water puddles. Ole was here in A.M. We went up town & papa took us to Mabel to get Mon's hand dressed. Came back & stayed at Mama's for dinner. They were at home for the day. Lester B. was here after we got home. Gust & Kate were here in eve. Arnold D. milked for us today. Had a freeze tonite.

Mon. Sept. 24
Nice day. Some warmer. Mon & I went to Mabel to get his hand dressed. Waited all P.M. for the Dr. Didn't get home until 6. Arnold milked for us this morning & Claude R. came over tonite to help awhile.

Tues. Sept. 25
Very windy day. A little warmer. Claude milked for us in A.M. & then went away. Didn't get back until we were eating supper. He milked & then went away again. Mon went up town in A.M. awhile. I went down to Ruth's & helped her peel tomatoes & pears. Was there for dinner. Mon came down in P.M. awhile. Arthur had earache in eve & I was up most of the night with him. It froze very hard tonite. Ruth was here in A.M. awhile.

Wed. Sept. 26
Quite a bit warmer today. Mr. Lovelein & Happy were here a few minutes in A.M. Mon & I went to Mabel in A.M. to get his hand dressed. It is coming just fine. Claude came back this morning & milked & then went away again. He came back about 2 & helped fix fence & dig potatoes. They turned the hogs in the corn this P.M. Ruth was here a minute in P.M. Mon & I were at Isa's for dinner. Baby looks & acts more like himself than he ever has before. He walks some now. Claude & Mon went up town in eve.

Thurs. Sept. 27
Nice day but quite windy. Mon went to Claude Headington's to thrash. Claude was up town all day. He milked night & morn & that was all he did do. I washed & ironed. I dressed Mon's finger for the first time tonite. Lester B. was up & spent the eve.

Fri. Sept. 28
Rather cloudy day. Claude milked morn & nite. Mon cut corn at Lester B's. We went to a weiner roast at Louie Underbakke's in eve. (Joan of Arc). Not many out but had a nice time. Got home about 10.

Sat. Sept. 29
Not very nice day. Cloudy & misty. Quite a bit warmer. Claude milked morn & nite again. Mon cut corn for Lester B. in A.M. & went to Mabel to the Dr. in P.M. Stopped at Harry Little's for some apples on our way home. Stopped in B.O. awhile too.

Nice day but windy. Quite a bit warmer. Claude milked morn & nite. Mama & papa were here all day. Papa dug most of our potatoes. Got a dandy nice bunch in the cellar. They are very nice too. Rained a little in eve.

Mon. Oct. 1
Rather misty & cloudy in A.M. but cleared off & was nice in P.M. Claude milked morn & nite. He stayed here all nite too. Mon cut corn for L. B. I was down to Ruths a few minutes in P.M. & she was up here a minute. Ray Hennings & Otto Koenig were here in eve.

Tues. Oct. 2
Lovely day. Nice & warm. Claude milked morn & nite & stayed here all nite. Mon cut corn for L. B. in A.M. & then we went to Mabel to the Dr. in P.M. Stopped in B.O. on our way home. Went over to Isa's a while. Mama & Aunt Lissa were up town & we took them home. I washed today.

Wed. Oct. 3
Lovely day. Nice & warm. Claude milked morn & nite. Mon cut corn for L. B. Arthur drove the car over to Seelyes after school & we got some hislops. Stopped at Ruth's on our way home a minute. We went up town in eve. Went over to Isa's. Had a big time with Loyal. He is just fine now.

Thurs. Oct. 4
Cloudy & misty all A.M. Rained in P.M. Had quite an electrical storm in eve. Claude milked in morn & eve & stayed here all night. Mon finished cutting corn for L. B. in A.M. about 10:30. I was down to Ruth's a few minutes in A.M.

Fri. Oct. 5
Lovely day. Claude milked morn & nite. Mon went to B.O. in A.M. with Francis. I went to a Farm Bureau meeting at Gladys' in P.M. Had a good meeting 10 there. Rugs was the topic. Went to the dance at B.O. in eve with Francis. Some time. Scrap. Missing people & such.

Sat. Oct. 6
Lovely day. Claude milked in morn & eve. We went to Decorah about 10:30. Got home about 4:30. Had dinner down town. Went up to Price's about 1:30. Gathered about 2 sacks of walnuts to bring home. Uncle Will Yager is there. Little son born to Lucile & Will Pierce tonite.

Sun. Oct. 7
Lovely day. We went up to Aunt Candace's to a wedding anniversary party for them. Quite a few there. Had a nice time. Arthur & Glen Abrahamson were here in A.M. & rode over town with us. Claude milked morn & nite.

Mon. Oct. 8
Lovely day. Mon cut corn for himself in P.M. Francis helped him part of P.M. & was here for supper. We went up town in eve. Went over to Isa's awhile. Claude milked morn & nite.

Tues. Oct. 9
Lovely day. I washed some in A.M. Mon cut corn in A.M. & went with Francis in P.M. to look for his calves. Found them over to John Kelly's. I went to Harmony in P.M. with Avery Hall & Isadore. Isa & I each got a new coat. Both are dark blue with fur collars & cuffs. Claude milked morn & nite.

Wed. Oct. 10
Nice warm day but very windy. Claude milked morn & eve. Isa & the boys walked over in A.M. & helped me. Mon cut corn in A.M. Francis & Oscar shocked corn for him & were here for dinner. Mon took Isa home in P.M. We went up town in eve. Oscar went up with us.

Thurs. Oct. 11
Nice day but windy. Claude milked in morn & that is the last he will be here. Arthur & Dean & I went up after Isa & the kids this A.M. & then Mon took her home in P.M. He finished cutting corn here at home this A.M. We went up town in eve.

Fri. Oct. 12
Rained very hard in A.M. but let up about noon was cloudy though. Started in raining again about 4:30 & rained off & on most of the night I guess. I had Club today. 17 here. Isa came over at noon & then Avery came after her about 7:30. The roads were so bad & it was so stormy looking some of them were afraid to come. Mrs. Seelye, Effie M. & Mabel L. were the visitors. Joe Moran, Francis, Oscar, Jim M. & Happy were here for supper too. Francis & Oscar were up in eve. Ruth is gone.

Sat. Oct. 13
Not very nice day. Quite cold. We gathered hickory nuts in A.M. I finished shucking our walnuts & got them in the house in P.M. Lester M. was here for dinner. Mon cut corn for Francis in P.M. We went up town in eve. Kate & I went over to Isa's awhile.

Sun. Oct. 14
Cloudy day. Nothing doing. We went up to Isa's a little while in P.M.

Mon. Oct. 15
Rained off & on most of the day. I washed part of my clothes. Mon cut corn for Francis. Went up town in eve. Went up to mama's. She & papa moved back home today. Sold 16 chickens for $6.90 tonite. 15¢ per lb.

Tues. Oct. 16
Rained in A.M. quite hard. Was warm in A.M. but got colder in P.M. Sun shone some in P.M. Francis was up in A.M. Mon & I went to B.O. with him in P.M. Eric Reeds sale. I went up to mama's.

Wed. Oct. 17
Rained almost all day. Pretty hard some times too. Mon went down to Loveleins in A.M. to help them butcher a lamb.

Thurs. Oct. 18
Rainy day. Nothing doing. There was no school on account of a teachers meeting at Dubuque. Mon & the boys went to B.O. about 5 P.M. too see about the horses. It rained hard while they were gone & the car got wet while they were coming home so they couldn't get any farther than Seelye's with it so they walked home.

Fri. Oct. 19
A little better day but quite chilly. Mon & the boys took the team & went after the car in A.M. We went to B.O. in P.M. Francis went with us. We bro't the horses home from the pasture at mama's. Dean stayed at mama's. We went up to the dance at B.O. in eve with Padden's. Not such a big crowd but we had a good time. Arthur stayed up to mama's too.

Sat. Oct. 20
Dandy day. Mon helped Francis get wood in A.M. & then Francis was here for dinner. Ruth & the rest were gone. In P.M. Mon finished cutting Francis corn. We didn't go after the boys today.

Sun. Oct. 21
Cloudy cool day. We went up to mama's & spent the day. The road gang that are grading the road getting ready for the paving. Moved in yesterday P.M. & we spent most of our time watching them. It is a regular little city. They are camped on Will Arnold's place. The boys came home with us in P.M.

Mon. Oct. 22
Dandy day. Mon took a grist up to B.O. & I went along up to mama's. We fixed my coat, & did quite a few things. Mon dug a pit for their gas tank up at the camp. He broke the car & Millard didn't get it fixed so Millard started to bring us home & he run out of gas over by Harold's & Harold bro't us the rest of the way. Didn't get home until about 6.

Tues. Oct. 23
Dandy day. I washed & ironed & did a lot of things. Mon was up town all day working on the car. They finished it so he bro't it home about 6 P.M. Ella Reed's Sale today. The boys went to a party at Krumm's in eve. Percy was here in eve awhile.

Wed. Oct. 24
Nice day. Mon went down to Loveleins in A.M. & got their manure spreader. In P.M. he hitched up Babe & drove her around awhile & then hauled manure with her. She went just fine. We went up town in eve. Took some hens up to mama. Isa & the kids were up there too.

Thurs. Oct. 25
Very nice day. Mama & Harlan walked over in A.M. & Mon took them home about 5. Mon hauled manure in A.M. & then Mama & I went with him in P.M. & helped pick a load of corn. Lester B. was here in eve. Florell Potter died today.

Fri. Oct. 26
Not very nice day. Cloudy & cool. Mon hauled manure. I went to Club at Ella Reeds in P.M. with Ole. Quite a crowd out. Had a dandy lunch. We rode back to B.O. with Myrtle M. & then on home with Francis.

Sat. Oct. 27
Not very nice in A.M. but cleared off & was nice in P.M. Rather cool tho'. I did up some work in the house in A.M. & then went out in the field & picked corn until noon. Went up town at noon with McCauleys. Aunt Alice, Arthur S. & I sang for Mr. Potter's funeral. Not many out. Mon came up after me about 4. We went up town in eve again. Went up to Mama's. Olive & the kids went up too. Pretty cold night.

Sun. Oct. 28
Not very nice day. Cloudy & cold. Francis & Percy were here in A.M. We went up to Mama's for dinner. Surprised her & papa. Alice & Teddy & Gerald, Claude's, Lester's & us were there. We took our dinners. Had a dandy dinner & time. Lena & Clifford came just after dinner & spent the P.M.

Mon. Oct. 29
Dandy day. We picked corn all day except a little while at noon Mon went down to Lester B's. We went up town in eve.

Tues. Oct. 30
Rather nice day, but cool. Mon took me too B.O. at noon. Alice S. rode up with us. Joan of Arc Oyster Supper tonite. Miriam, Luella & I were decorating corn so we had some work to do. Had a good crowd out for supper. Had dandy oysters. Bessie J., Elsie & I cooked them again. Got home about 10. Rather tired. Mon & the boys came up to supper & so I came home with them.

Wed. Oct. 31
Rather a nice day. Mon went to B.O. with a grist in A.M. Jim & Danny M. were here for dinner. Mon went down to Lester B's. after dinner a little while. He is plowing for us. We picked corn after he came home. Went down to Paddens in eve awhile.

Thurs. Nov. 1
Snowed & blowed. Quite a young blizzard for the first day of the month. Not so cold though. Got colder toward night. Francis was here awhile in P.M.

Fri. Nov. 2
Another snowy, rainy, blowy day. Lester B. was here in A.M. & Francis was here in P.M. We didn't go to the dance at B.O. in eve.

Sat. Nov. 3
Dandy day. I washed, ironed, scrubbed & did a lot of things. Mr. Ferris was here in A.M. We sold our hogs today. Walt Rehwinkel hauled them. He was here for dinner. The roads are awful they said. Sold 24 hogs at $8.40 per hundred & got $389.75. Weighed 4640. Loyd was so drunk Mon couldn't get his check. Had a great time. He didn't get home until 10. I nearly died. Didn't know what had happened to him.

Sun. Nov. 4
Dandy day. Mon & I went out in the grove in A.M. to find some squirrels but didn't get any. Percy came along, walking to town so we took him. Went up to mama's but she wasn't home so we went back down to Isa's & mama & papa were there. They had just finished dinner so we had some dinner too. We played cards after dinner. Came home about 4:30. Gust & Kate came over too & stayed an hour or so. They wouldn't stay to supper tho'.

Mon. Nov. 5
Nice day but the wind was cool. Mon went to Prosper & I went up to mama's. She & I went over to Allie Ward's in P.M. Took a dress over for her to make for me. Mon got a load of coal at Prosper & got his money for the hogs. Everything was all O.K. today. They are grading the road in front of mama's now. It looks rather odd up there. Lester B. was here in A.M. & Francis in eve.

Tues. Nov. 6
Election day. Nice day but windy. Mon went down to Lester B's. in A.M. I washed in A.M. We went up town at noon to vote & then stayed up there all P.M. Went up to Mama's & then she went down town with me to vote. Alice M. & Grace Nash went along too. Mama, Alice & I stopped at Isa's awhile on our way back. They went on home & I went back over town. Waited at the store all P.M. for Mon. He was watching them work the road. Quite a large crowd in town.

Wed. Nov. 7
Started to rain in the night & kept it up until about 11. It cleared off some then & was quite nice the rest of the day. Lester & Claude B. were here awhile in P.M. Mon picked some corn in P.M.

Thurs. Nov. 8
Nice day. We finished picking our corn this A.M. Went up town with a grist in P.M. Went up to mama's a minute and stopped at Isa's a minute too. Lester & Claude B. were here in A.M. & got some pigs. They bo't 15 for $90. Spring pigs.

Fri. Nov. 9
Rained & snowed most of the day. I went down to Ruth's a minute in A.M. Gladys was here a minute too. Mon picked up corn. Ruth, Gladys & I went down to Stella Reeds in P.M. to Club. We were the only ones there. Had a dandy good time but some roads getting there & back. Run out of gasoline, but got some so we got home O.K.

Sat. Nov. 10
Not very nice in A.M. Cloudy, cool & misty. Got brighter later in P.M. Cleared off & was nice in eve. We went up town in A.M. Went up to mama's. Watched the men working on the road all the time we were there. They were taking the dirt out of the folks pasture & filling in at the bridge. Alice M. & Miss Barnes were at Mama's in P.M. Papa got home from his work quite early so we got to see him too. The boys got their hair cut today.

Sun. Nov. 11
Dandy day. Nice & warm. Rather windy in P.M. & eve. Mon & the boys went hunting in A.M. & didn't get back for dinner until about 2. We were alone all day & eve.

Mon. Nov. 12
Dandy day. I washed & ironed. Mon took me up town in P.M. to try on my dress at Allie's. We went down to Harold & Audreys in eve. Had a good time. They have 5 little puppies & they are cute. We got home about 11.

Tues. Nov. 13
Cloudy most of the day. Rather a chilly south wind. We went to Decorah in A.M. Went the river road. It wasn't bad. Got home about 1:30. Had dinner & then Mon went to pick up corn.

Wed. Nov. 14
Rained off & on all A.M. & some of P.M. Mon went down to Floyd A's. in A.M. to shred. They came up to Francis in P.M. I went down & helped Ruth. The wind was just terrible all day. It blew from the south but wasn't so very cold.

Thurs. Nov. 15
Lovely day. They finished shredding at Francis about 10, and went down to Paul W's. Mon didn't have to help him. Papa came over here about 10. He started building the new toilet. He went home for supper. We went over town in eve. Went up to Mama's awhile.

Fri. Nov. 16
Rained almost all day & nite. Went down to Ruths' in P.M. to a Farm Bureau Meeting. Only Gladys & I there. The lesson was on chair covering. We got quite a little done at Ruth's chair. Dance up town tonite but we didn't go.

Sat. Nov. 17
Rained in A.M. & then turned into snow. Snowed quite hard in P.M. We went up town in A.M. Went up to Mama's. Came home about 3:30. Percy W. & (?Leigh?) H. were here a minute in P.M.

Sun. Nov. 18
Quite a nice day although the sun did not shine much. Mon & the boys went hunting in A.M. but didn't get anything. Percy W. was here awhile in P.M. Happy, Audry & Percy were here & spent the eve. We had a big time. They went home about 11.

Mon. Nov. 19
Rather cold day. Sun did not shine much. Lester B. came up in A.M. for Mon to go down & help him so I went along too. They were fixing the barn up for winter. Lou B. came while we were there. We got home about 4. Ruth was here awhile after we got home. Francis was here in eve awhile.

Tues. Nov. 20
Rather cold day. Papa was here all day. He finished here today. Mon & I went up town a minute in P.M. Frank Sullivan was here a few minutes in P.M. He came along as papa was going home so he drove his car for him. Regina had her Thanksgiving Day Program tonite. She surely had a dandy program. Had a good big crowd for all the rough roads. Had a nice lunch too. We each took some things to eat. Ellis got my geese this A.M. 11 weighed 141 lbs & I got .16 per lb. So I got $22.56.

Wed. Nov. 21
Nice day. The snow almost all went off today. It thawed like everything. Francis helped Mon stack corn fodder in A.M. Mon & I went to B.O. in P.M. Went to Isa's & made kraut. She gave it to me. Got my dress today.

Thurs. Nov. 22
Nice day. Pretty windy. I washed & ironed & cleaned up the house some. Mon helped Lester B. shred.

Fri. Nov. 23
Nice day. Mon helped Lester shred until about 3 P.M. I was down to Ruth's awhile in A.M. Ole took Ruth, Gladys & I over to Merle's & then he took us on up to Ferris to Club. Some roads. So terribly muddy. We walked up from the school house & got stuck in the mud. Quite a few there. Had a nice time & a dandy lunch. Ole came up & got us. Em Rice was buried at B.O. today.

Sat. Nov. 24
Cloudy all day. The wind blew hard. The boys went up to mama's in A.M. & stayed all day. Mon & I finished picking up our corn in A.M. Mon went down to Annie's a few minutes in P.M. We done up our chores about 5 P.M. & went up to mama's for supper. The wind blew pretty hard about that time & until about 7:30. We came home about 9.

Sun. Nov. 25
Nice day. Some warmer. Mama & papa were here a minute in A.M. & again in P.M. They were down to Dave Cassells. Ruth was here in A.M. awhile. Mon went down to Lester B's. in A.M. & didn't get home until about 2:30. Gust R. was here awhile at noon. Francis was here in P.M. Mon was down to Ole's in P.M.

Mon. Nov. 26
Nice day. Mon & I went up to mama's in A.M. In P.M. Mon went over to Gust's. We took our goose up to mama's & she & I dressed it in P.M. Alice M. was there awhile.

Tues. Nov. 27
Cloudy in A.M. Started to storm about noon. Rained & snowed off & on all P.M. I washed in A.M. Ruth was here in A.M. awhile then she & I went over to Elsie's to L.A.S. Quite a few out for such a day. We went up town before we came home. Mon helped Gust husk corn all day.

Wed. Nov. 28
Cloudy day again. Mon & Ruth dragged roads & I went down & stayed with Mrs. Ferris. Got ready for Thanksgiving after we got home. Went up town in eve. Went up to mama's awhile.

Thurs. Nov. 29
Thanksgiving Day. Not very nice day. Cloudy again. Papa & mama came down & spent the day. We had our goose for dinner. The boys came home for dinner. Mon & papa went down to Ben Gilbertsons in A.M. & Lester B's in P.M.

Fri. Nov. 30
Cloudy, frosty day. Mon took 3 calves up to Rupert Greenslades today & went on to Prosper & got a load of coal. Didn't get home until about 5 P.M. Went to the Dance in B.O. in eve with Padden's. Quite a crowd out to the dance. Bert Hitchcock's orchestra played. Fine music. Had a big time about Roy Halse's robe. Got home about 2:30. The boys stayed at Mama's.

Sat. Dec. 1
Not very nice day. Not so cold tho'. Francis was here awhile in A.M. Mon, mama & I went to Decorah. Quite a crowd in town. Got a new pair of slippers. We went down the pike. It wasn't too bad but we came home the other way. The boys stayed with papa. Lester B. was here after we got home.

Sun. Dec. 2
Another cloudy foggy day. Pretty frosty today. Papa, mama & Harlan came around this way going to Claudes & the boys & I went with them. Had a good visit. Mon came up to B.O. after us about 4:30. We had a new little calf this morning (The Bell cow).

Mon. Dec. 3
Cold day. Sun shone some. Mon went up to help Lester butcher & I went up to mama's. Loyal & Harlan were there & we had a good time. Sewed some for Loyal. We went with the sled. First sleigh ride.

Tues. Dec. 4
Dandy day. Sun shone all day. Ole took Gladys, Ruth & I over to Elsies in P.M. to practice the "Old Maids Convention". Had a lot of fun. Merle was sick. Had the grippe.

Wed. Dec. 5
Nice day but cold. I washed today. Frank Rollins & Alva Pierce were here in A.M. Mon went hunting in P.M. but didn't get anything.

Thurs. Dec. 6
Dandy day. Went to the M.E. L.A.S. Sale at the Hall. Ruth & Francis went with us. Went with the sled. Good roads for anything. Quite a crowd at the dinner & sale. Had a fine dinner. Chicken pie & everything. I sold candy & helped Louie Headington clerk for the sale. Got home about 4:30. Ruth & Francis were up in eve. Played cards. Conrad Johnson was here awhile too. Supposed to have had a surprise party here tonite but it didn't turn out. Had a big laugh anyway. Don't know who the joke was on, Padden's Arthur or us.

Fri. Dec. 7
Dandy day. Francis helped Mon stack corn fodder at Lester B's today. I went to Club at Seelye's in P.M. Not so many out. Lots of folks are sick with the Flu.

Sat. Dec. 8
Dandy day. Lester helped Mon finish stacking the fodder at Lester B's and they took papa's up too him. Dean & Arthur went with Mon up town. Percy came while we were eating supper & he went up town with Mon & Art. Home Coming night for the Odd Fellows & they had a party & dance. Dean & I stayed at home. He is all broke out. Guess he has the measles or chicken pox or something. He isn't sick though. Art stayed all night at Grandma's & Percy stayed here all nite.

Sun. Dec. 9
Very nice day. Thawed all day. Mama & papa bro't Arthur home after dinner. Henry's folks were up in P.M. too. Bro't us some Xmas presents. Mon $5, the boys a game & .50 each & myself a spoon. Dean is the same today. Henry's mother & mama think it is caused from his stomach & bowels & I guess it is.

Mon. Dec. 10
Dandy day. Thawed again today. Francis helped Mon stack corn fodder. Dean didn't go to school He is about all right now though. He & I went up town with Gladys & Ole in P.M. He went up to mama's. I went to practice at Alyse Wicks for the Old Maids Convention. Too many sick with the "flu" so we didn't practice. We are not going to have it for a while. I went over to Raymond Youngs in eve with Francis & Ruth. Had a meeting of the B.O. Com. Dance Club. Not many out. Elected new officers, made new by laws & such. Francis P. Pres. Raymond & Joe Moran managers, Mae Ward Treas. & myself Sec. Had a nice lunch. Got home about 1.

Tues. Dec. 11
Another warm thawy day. I washed. My clothes didn't dry good though. Gladys was here in A.M. awhile. Ole helped Mon stack corn fodder in P.M. Dean is pretty good again so he went to school today. Not many of the children at school. Too much flu.

Wed. Dec. 12
Nice in A.M. but got cloudy & misty in P.M. Thawed so it took most of our snow. Ole came up about 11 to help Mon stack corn fodder. Mon went down to Paul W's in P.M. after they finished stacking fodder. Don't feel very god.

Thurs. Dec. 13
Bad day. Started to rain about 10 & rained all day. Rained hard too. Mon & Paul W. started to stack corn fodder but it rained so hard they only got their loads loaded & had to leave them out in the field. Don't feel much better.

Fri. Dec. 14
Foggy nasty day. Mon & Paul finished stacking the fodder early in P.M. Big dance in B.O. tonite. (Only they didn't have it). A few went. We didn't. I went to bed & left Mon & the boys the work too do. No mail today.

Sat. Dec. 15
Another nasty foggy day. Ruth was here a few minutes in A.M. Mon & the boys went up town about noon. Drove the teams & buggy. The roads are fierce they said. I layed on the cot all day. Mon & the boys did the work. I sat up a few minutes at supper time & ate a little.

Sun. Dec. 16
Dandy nice day. Sun shone all day. Papa walked down about noon & stayed for a couple of hours or so. I feel better today. Didn't set up much though.

Mon. Dec. 17
Not very nice day. Froze up this morning. Much colder. Snow off & on all day. Sometimes like a regular blizzard. Mon was down to Francis a couple of times. No mail today.

Tues. Dec. 18
Not very nice day. Snowed off & on all day & the wind blew. It thawed quite a little too. Mon & Mr. Ferris went up town about noon. Ruth baked bread & pie for us today. I got a lovely boquet of carnations from the Club today. I feel better today.

Wed. Dec. 19
Dandy day. Nothing doing. Francis was here awhile in P.M. So was Gladys. I was up all day today. Didn't lie down at all.

Thurs. Dec. 20
Very cold windy day. Coldest day we have had. Francis was here awhile in A.M. McCauleys came along in P.M. going to town & run out of gas. Came up here & got some & then Mon went to town with them. Effie & Ray came in the house & waited until they got the car going. I made Xmas candy today.

Fri. Dec. 21
Nice day. Quite a bit warmer. Mon went down to Francis in A.M. Loyd Knowlton was here about noon. I went out doors this A.M. the first time for a week. Went to Club at Elsie's with Gladys & Ole in P.M. Mon rode up town with us too. Not so very many out to Club. Too much sickness I guess. Had a dandy lunch. The boys school was out today for Xmas vacation. They had a Xmas Tree & presents. We got our first pullet egg today. Mrs. Loveleins father died tonite.

Sat. Dec. 22
Nice day. We went over to B.O. in A.M. took a grist over. Pretty rough going in the wagon. Went up to Mama's for dinner. Stopped at Isa's a few minutes in P.M. Did a little Xmas shopping. First time I have been up town to do any. The boys & I rode home with Lester B. in the car.

Sun. Dec. 23
Sun did not shine much but it was quite a bit warmer. Thawed quite a little. We went down to Uncle George's. The folks, Claude's & Aunt Till were there too. Had a good time. Mrs. Maria Peacock was buried at B.O. today. Ray Hennings was here & spent the eve.

Mon. Dec. 24
Nice day. Mon went down to Francis in A.M. & helped him load some hogs. We went up to B.O. about noon. Went up to Mama's for dinner. Went down town awhile in P.M. stopped at Isa's a minute. We went over to the M.E. church in eve to the Xmas tree. Percy rode over with us. Sold 10 old hens got $9.60.

Tues. Dec. 25
Lovely day. Quite warm. We went over to the folks for Xmas dinner. Isa left this P.M. Got tired of taking care of her boys I guess. Don't know if she will ever come back or not, she says. The folks feel terrible about it. We got lots of nice Xmas presents.

Wed. Dec. 26
Nice day. It thawed quite a lot again today. Harold L. was here awhile in A.M. His grandfather is buried today. We went up home in A.M. Olive & the kids were there. Lester had a sale this P.M. so some of them were at Mama's for dinner. She was down there helping most of the time & Olive & I took care of Harlan & Loyal. Loyal has quite a cold or I would have bro't him home with us. Mon went down & done up some chores for Loveleins after we got home.

Thurs. Dec. 27
Nice day. We went to Decorah in A.M. Didn't get back until 6. Paddens & Arthur went along. Dean stayed with Mama all day & night. Mon took Arthur & I up to his folks just after dinner so we had the whole P.M. up there. Mrs. Miller was there awhile too.

Fri. Dec. 28
Very nice in A.M. & until about 3 P.M. it started to get colder & got real cold before night. The wind blew quite hard too. I washed in A.M. Mon went over to Gusts in P.M. & I went up to mama's. Arthur stayed up there & Dean came home. Gladys & Lester B. were here in A.M. We went to the dance at B.O. in eve with Padden's. Had a good crowd, good music & good time. Got home about 2. Percy stayed here all nite. Both boys stayed up to mama's.

Sat. Dec. 29
Cold day. Quite windy. We didn't get up very early. Went up town about noon. Went up to mama's. The boys came home with us.

Sun. Dec. 30
Quite a bit warmer today, but still the wind was cold. Dad Price & Sidney were up in P.M. Mon & the boys & them went down to Lester B's awhile. Lester bro't Isa home tonite.

Mon. Dec. 31
Not very nice day. Quite warm in A.M. but got colder & the wind blew quite hard. Tried to snow too. Arthur rode a horse over to Gusts from Annie's. Dean went with him as far as mama's. Gust bro't Arthur back to mama's & then the boys stayed there the rest of the P.M. & nite. Mon helped Paul W. saw wood in P.M. We were supposed to go to Matters with Ruth & Francis but Mon didn't get home in time. Ruth was here in P.M.
